Golladay Hired as First Full-Time Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
LINCOLN, Neb. – Head Women's Basketball Coach Jim Wiedie has announced the hiring of Sydney Golladay as Nebraska Wesleyan's first full-time assistant coach in program history.
"Adding Sydney to our staff is a home run for our program," Wiedie said. "She brings high-level playing experience, a passion for teaching the game, and strong Nebraska ties. Her energy and leadership will have an immediate impact on our culture and our players' development."
Golladay recently completed her final season of eligibility at Creighton University, competing for the Bluejays in 2024–25 while pursuing a Master's in Organizational Leadership.
Before that, she was a four-year starter at Fort Hays State University, where she captained the Tigers in her final two seasons and represented the program on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Golladay earned MIAA Academic Honor Roll recognition each year and graduated cum laude with a degree in Elementary Education. She also received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
Off the court, her coaching foundation includes three summers (2021–2023) as a high school AAU coach, where she led practices, installed game plans, and built team culture. She's also worked youth development camps focused on basketball fundamentals and mentorship.
"I'm truly honored to join Coach Wiedie and the Nebraska Wesleyan community," Golladay said. "I'm excited for the opportunity to help build the program and support the growth of our student-athletes both on and off the court."
The Prairie Wolves return all five starters from last year's squad and open the 2025–26 season at home on November 8 against McPherson College. The full schedule is available here.
